Can No Longer Log In to Dashboard

Can No Longer Log In to Dashboard

Did you used to be able to log in to the dashboard, but no longer can? Here's how to fix that.

How to fix it

Open the log in page and enter the email address associated with your account. This is usually your work email. Press the "send me a link" button.
Within a few minutes you should receive an email from Transportant that contains a login link. While using the device that you want to access the dashboard, click the link in the email.
With that, you will be in the dashboard. We recommend that you bookmark the dashboard's address for future reference.
You may discard the email you received from Transportant. The link it contains will expire shortly, so there is no reason to save it.

Troubleshooting

If you do not receive the email

If you do not receive the email after entering your address in the log in page, check your spam or junk folder.
If it is not there either, ask your school's Transportant administrator or your Transportation Director to confirm the email address associated with your account. Entering the wrong address in the log in page is the most common reason for failure, so confirming the email address to use is important.
If your Transportant administrator cannot help, contact Transportant support at support@transportant.com. Tell us your name, the school system you work for, the email address you believe you are registered under, and exactly what you have tried and what the results were. Screenshots may be helpful here.
If you receive the email with a login link, but the link does not work, contact Transportant support at support@transportant.com. Tell us your name, the school system you work for, the email address you are registered under, and exactly what you saw when you clicked on the login link, aside from not getting in to the dashboard. Please include a screenshot showing the entire browser window, including the web page address, that you see after clicking the link.

Background information

If you enter an incorrect address in the log in page, you will neither receive an email nor will you be shown any notice. This is a security measure to make things harder for bad actors trying to access your students' data. For that reason, do not expect the log in page to warn you if you are using the wrong address.
Transportant does not use the traditional username and password logon that some people might expect. Instead, logon is done with a certificate associated with the web browser and device used when following the login link email. This has the advantage of freeing you from having to remember and secure a username/password pair. It does however mean you must be using the device that you want to access the dashboard when you click on the link in the email.
It also means that to access the dashboard on a different browser or device, you have to request another login link email. Want to try a different web browser? Have a new work computer or phone? Want to work from home? All those things imply a new device and thus you will need a new login link email.
