What is the Recordings page
The Recordings page is where you can create and review audio recordings, as well as send them to a bus.
To find the Recordings page, start on the main page of the dashboard. Find the Audio/Video section, and there click on Recordings:
The Recordings page will open, showing any previously recorded messages.
Create a recording
On a computer with a microphone, select Recording Actions in the upper right-hand corner. In the context menu that opens, select Create Message.
A "Details" column will open. Give your new message a title and description. The next field is "send to"; leave this blank for now.
Press Start Recording. Your browser might ask for permission to record audio or use your microphone. If it does, accept.
Record your message, ending the recording by pressing Stop Recording.
An audio player will appear on the page. Check your work by pressing the play button (a forward-facing triangle). If you are not satisfied with the recording, press Remove, then record again. Otherwise, press Save Changes.
Your new recording will be added to your list of available recordings and is available to be sent to a bus.
Review recordings
Click on a recording to select it. Here you may edit the Message Title and Message Description fields, or play back the message to review it.
If you wish to delete the selected message, press the Recording Actions button near the top right of the page. A context menu will appear; select Delete Message.
Troubleshooting
Unable to record
If you see the following message, either a microphone is not available or the browser is not letting it record.
Check your browser settings. Exactly where to look and what the settings look like varies from browser to browser, but here is one example from a recent version of Chrome:
What is shown in the image above is a blocked microphone; you would want to change it to "allow".
