Recent Review Playlist Fragmentation

Recent Review Playlist Fragmentation

On the recent review page, you might observe that the video sessions in the playlist are unusually short, only a few minutes or even seconds long (see screenshot). If so, here's why this happens and what to do about it.

What Causes Playlist Fragmentation

Each entry in the recent review playlist corresponds to a video session. A number of things can cause a session to end and a new session to begin: restarting the attendant, switching connectivity between Wi-Fi and cellular, entering or leaving a do not record location, or if the bus's engine is shut off or started up. If the attendant believes that one of these things is happening rapidly and repeatedly, then there will be many brief video sessions, which will be reflected in the recent review playlist as seen above.
The most common cause for this is a faulty ignition wire or connection in the power loom. This can cause the ignition signal to intermittently drop to zero or return, and each time that happens, a new video session is started.

How to Fix Playlist Fragmentation

Check the ignition wire (that's the yellow wire in the power loom) for any faults or loose connections. Also give that wire a very gentle tug where it enters the Molex plug that connects to the attendant. Your objective here is to confirm that the wire is held securely in the plug, not to rip it out.
If you have fixed the problem, you should see that henceforth video sessions in recent review are of expected length. It should not be necessary to reset the attendant to see an improvement.
If this does not fix the problem, report the matter by sending a message to support@transportant.com, mentioning what you have tried and observed. We'll be happy to help.
