Tags

To assist you in organizing your data, you can add text or emoji tags in the dashboard to data fields such as buses, routes, stops, students, guardians, and points of interest. Tags added in the dashboard will appear in the copilot.
Tags can be added individually or in bulk.

Individual Tags

Adding an Individual Tag

Begin by locating the Add Tags control. Whether you are managing buses, routes, stops, students, guardians, or
points of interest, the Add Tags control is located in about the same location near the top right on each item’s screen. To see the Add tags control, you will need to have first selected the item you would like to update.
Looking at buses as an example, first select a bus on the Buses page. Once you have done that, you will see the Add Tags control below the map.

Click the Add Tags control, which will open the tags field. There, type in your desired tag, be it a text or emoji. Emojis are also searchable. Click Save,'and voila! Your tag is now associated with the selected item.

Tips and Tricks for Individual Tags

Your tags appear in the Tags column on the dashboard (see screenshot below) and on the copilot with relevant information (e.g. student information) for enhancing visibility.
Use the dashboard's filter to find specific items quickly by tags. When you do so, note that what you enter in the filter field needs to begin with a hash symbol (#). For example to filter on the tag “maintenance”, what you would enter in the filter field is “#maintenance”.

Bulk Tags

Uploading tags in bulk is done in the same way other data is uploaded. See the tags.csv page for more information. If you are new to data import, you might also find Getting Started with Data Import useful.

Examples/Use Cases

Use Case 1: Student Tracking

Scenario: Tag students with specific attributes (e.g., special needs, bus preferences,
allergies).
Benefits: Communicate these attributes to the driver via tags. For information that should be kept confidential, such as medical conditions, a code of emojis can be developed to confidentially communicate a situation to the driver.

Use Case 2: Bus Status

Scenario: Buses that are not available for use or are needed for maintenance can be tagged with key information.
Benefits: This allows everyone that is looking at the list of buses to know the status of
each bus.
