Explanation
When you see an SSD Diagnostic Failure alert, that means that an attendant's primary storage for video (solid state drive, or SSD) has failed one or more automated diagnostic tests.
Transportant periodically runs automated health tests on your attendants to catch failing SSDs before any problems become noticeable for you or video is lost. For this reason, this is an alert that should not be ignored.
Effect
If this alert is left unaddressed, you can expect to encounter problems reviewing or offloading video.
Next Steps
This alert comes with a severity level, a number between 1 and 4. What your next action is depends upon the severity level.
- A severity level of 1 or 2, without any noticeable difficulty in reviewing or offloading video, means that we are beginning to observe failed diagnostic tests. The storage unit continues to function and your videos remain safe, but you should keep a close eye on the attendant and be prepared to replace it on short notice should the severity level increase. If there are videos that you have been meaning to offload from this attendant, you should do so without delay.
- A severity level 1 or 2 accompanied by video difficulties, or level 3 or 4 with or without symptoms, means that the video storage on this attendant can no longer be trusted and that the attendant should be replaced. Contact customer support at support@transportant.com to arrange for this.
