Camera Not Appearing

If a camera that you expect to see on the bus page or in live video does not appear, here is what to do:
If the bus is not online, bring it online.
If you see the message "Bus is parked at a location where video recording is turned off", follow the instructions in the article View Video When Recording is Turned Off.
Locate the cables from the cameras that plug into ports on the attendant. Each port has one green and one orange light, and when a properly functioning camera is plugged in to it, both lights should be illuminated. You may find that the port the missing camera is plugged into does not have both lights on.
Next, perform the following steps. After each step, see if both lights come on. Even better would be to check on a computer (perhaps a laptop computer that you brought with you to the bus) to see if the missing camera has returned.
  1. Unplug the cable of the missing camera from the attendant for ten seconds, then plug it in to a different unused port on the attendant.
  2. Go to the camera and unplug the cable from it for ten seconds, then plug it back in.
  3. Unplug both ends of the cable, and use a known good cable to connect the attendant and the camera. This is a temporary troubleshooting measure so there is no need at this time to run that cable in a tidy manner or to remove the original cable.
These steps usually make missing cameras appear. If however the camera still does not appear, open a support ticket with Transportant by sending an email to support@transportant.com, mentioning the bus number and (if known) the name of the missing camera.
