Attendant Replacement Guide
Getting Started
When Transportant staff recommends that you replace an attendant, this guide will help you through the process of removing your old one and
installing a new one.
You’ll need the following items:
- Masking tape and a marker, to label cords as you disconnect them.
- A #2 Phillips head screwdriver or drill bit.
- A shipping label, which Transportant staff will have sent you. If you do not yet have a shipping label, contact Transportant at support@transportant.com.
Tips and tricks:
- Keep the return label and box in a safe spot.
- Write down the new attendant number before you start.
- Your equipment may vary slightly from what is illustrated here.
- Don’t forget step 14!
Instructions
1. Deallocate Old Attendant
- Follow the instructions to deallocate the old attendant.
2. Pull Fuse
- Locate the fuse box on your bus.
- Disconnect the power and ignition
before working on the system.

- Locate the attendant on your bus.
Every bus is different, so your attendant could be in the
driver’s glove box, a bulkhead
storage area, or elsewhere.
- Adjust the attendant to have a
clear view and easy access to all
cables plugged into it.

4. Unplug Power
- Locate the power socket and its cord.
- Label this cord "power".
- Pinch the connector, push down on
the retention clip, and gently pull to
remove the plug.

- Locate the ports for the copilot and cameras and their cords.
- Label the corresponding cords.
- Pinch the connector, push down on
the retention clip, and gently pull to
disconnect the copilot's cord. Repeat for each of the cameras' cords.
If present, do not unplug any cord plugged into a port labeled
Aux Device.

- Locate the four coaxial cables
screwed to SMA connectors labeled
LTE 1, GPS, LTE 2, and WiFi.
- Label each cord.
- Disconnect each cord by twisting the
coaxial cable connector
counterclockwise until the cable
detaches from the attendant. Do not disconnect the small
antenna from the Ant port.

- Label this cord "sensor inputs".
- Pinch the connector and push
downward on the retention clip, and
gently pull to remove the plug from
the sensor inputs socket.

- Locate the audio port and its cord.
- Label this cord "audio".
- Pinch the connector and push
downward on the retention clip,
and gently pull to remove the plug
from the audio socket.

- Check that everything is unplugged
from the old attendant except for (a) the
small antenna screwed to the SMA
connector labeled Ant and (b) the Ethernet cord plugged into the port labeled
Aux Device, if present.
- Unscrew the old attendant and set it
aside to be returned.

Attach everything in the following order:
- Plug in the power cord, listening for the retention
clip to click into place.
- Plug in the sensor input cord, listening for the retention clip to click into place.
- Plug in the audio cord, listening for the retention
clip to click into place.
- Connect the LTE 1 cord by twisting the connector clockwise until the cable is tightly
attached. Repeat for the GPS, LTE 2, and Wi-Fi cords.
- Plug in the copilot cord, listening for the retention clip to click into place.
- Plug in the camera cords, listening for the retention clips to click into place.
11. Attach New Attendant
- Locate the sticker with the attendant
number and make a note of it.
- Secure the new attendant to the
bus.
12. Reconnect the Fuses
- Reconnect the Power and Ignition
fuses.
13. Check Connections
- Turn on the bus.
- Confirm the attendant is receiving
power by checking that the green
LEDs on the port are lighting up.
- If the attendant is not powering on
unplug and then replug the Power
cable listening for retention clip to
click into place. If that does work,
disconnect the power fuse, wait 30
seconds and reconnect.
- Confirm ports with connections
(CoPilot, Camera 1-10 Aux
Device, if present) have a blinking
yellow LED.
- If a Camera port does not have a
blinking yellow LED remove the
cord and plug it into a port with a
green LED.
If necessary you can plug the copilot cord into any of the four rightmost ports.

- Follow the instructions to allocate an attendant.
- If you are unable to allocate the new attendant, confirm you have already deallocated the old attendant, and that the new attendant's lights are on. If you are still unable to allocate the new one, contact Transportant staff at support@transportant.com. Mention the the attendant number and
the bus number in which it was
installed.
The system WILL NOT work until you deallocate the old attendant and allocate the new one.
14. Send Back Old
Attendant
Package up the old attendant and mail it
back using the shipping label provided by Transportant staff. Please do not send attendants, or any devices, without prior authorization from Transportant.
