Allocate Attendants

Allocate Attendants

Before an attendant will work, it needs to be allocated. Here's how to do that.

How to allocate an attendant

In the Device Management section of the dashboard, open the Installs page. Here you will see all the devices (attendants, copilots, and cameras) that are now or have been allocated to your school system.
In the Filter By field at the top of the page, enter the ATD number of the attendant to allocate. There may be multiple entries for the attendant's number; if so, you will use the one with the most recent handshake.
Use the entry with the most recent handshake
If the attendant does not appear, see Tips and Tricks, below.
Click on the circle of the entry you have found. This selects the attendant and opens a panel on the right side of the screen.
In the right hand panel, click on the "Available Buses" field under "Install Device". There, find the bus you want to assign the attendant to.
Select the attendant, and the bus to assign it to
If the desired bus does not appear, see Tips and Tricks, below.
Select the desired bus. An Install button will appear; press it.

Next actions

Confirm on the Buses page that the attendant is now listed under “installed devices” on the bus. It might take a few seconds to appear there.
If you also have cameras or a copilot to allocate to this bus, allocate them as well.

Tips and tricks

If you cannot find the new attendant on the Installs page, contact Transportant at support@transportant.com to ask them to allocate it for you. Sometimes an attendant is not yet in your fleet's inventory, which Transportant staff is happy to add for you.
If you are replacing an attendant, deallocate the old one before attempting to allocate the new one.
Apropos the previous point, if you cannot find the desired bus in the available buses field, that usually means that the bus still has an old attendant allocated to it. You can check this on the Buses page. In that case, first deallocate the old attendant before allocating the new one.
If you cannot find the desired bus on the Buses page either, that usually means that this is a new bus that has not yet been added to your inventory. Contact Transportant at support@transportant.com to ask them to add it to your inventory.
