Battery Sensor

Battery Sensor

Explanation

The battery sensor alert tells you that the attendant on the indicated bus is not seeing battery voltage. This is usually due to problems with the bus's wiring or fuses.

Effect

If the attendant does not see battery voltage, it will shut down the moment the engine is shut off. You will not be able to access historical video because all power is cut to the system.

Next Steps

The connections need to be checked in the side panel of the bus to ensure that battery and ignition are tied to the appropriate keyed terminals. Check for corrosion or anything else interrupting the connections.
Check to ensure no fuses are blown in the power line.

Check Fixes

Check the Device Health page or the battery chart to confirm the attendant is now reading battery voltage.
This alert, like most, is calculated on a rolling average, so even after correcting the problem the alert will remain visible for a few days. However, by clicking through to the detail page as seen above, you can see if you have successfully fixed the problem.
Once the immediate problem has been resolved, we suggest that you check the health of the bus's batteries and charging system. It is Transportant's experience that after fixing the problem that caused the battery sensor alert, difficulties with the batteries or charging system might appear.
